College of Administration and Economics / University of Fallujah: An Overview
The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Fallujah was established in 1998. Initially, it was part of Anbar University and later became a cornerstone of the newly formed University of Fallujah.
At its inception, the college comprised two academic departments:
- Department of Public Administration: Offering a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration.
- Department of Economics: Offering a Bachelor's degree in Economics.
In the academic year 2013-2014, the University of Fallujah was founded, and the College of Administration and Economics became one of its constituent faculties. To meet labor market demands and within the available resources, the college subsequently introduced new departments:
- Department of Financial and Banking Sciences
- Department of Business Administration
Currently, the college consists of four scientific departments, listed in order of their establishment:
- Department of Public Administration
- Department of Economics
- Department of Financial and Banking Sciences
- Department of Business Administration
These departments offer programs for morning studies. For evening studies, there are also four departments:
- Department of Economics
- Department of Public Administration
- Department of Financial and Banking Sciences
- Department of Business Administration
The college has witnessed a continuous increase in student numbers over the years, graduating many cohorts with Bachelor's degrees in various specializations.
Postgraduate Studies
The college has also expanded its postgraduate offerings:
- Master's in Economics: Established in 2002.
- Doctorate in Economics: Established in 2018.
- Diploma in Security Strategic Planning: Established in 2022.
- Master's in Public Administration: Established in 2023.
Future Plans
Due to the growing number of students and the establishment of new scientific departments to cover the needs of the labor market, the college plans to accelerate work on new buildings at the university site. This includes adding more classrooms, a modern library, and a cafeteria to provide a suitable environment for students.
