Message from the Head of the Department of Economics

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and all his family and companions.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Economics, and we thank you for your interest in exploring the department's academic content. We would like to inform you that the department offers three programs: Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees. The department strives to support the journey of higher education, which can only be achieved through collective efforts, with the aim of becoming a leading economics department in Iraq. We aspire to lead research, education, and economic policy-making for our nation, with a strong focus on environmental sustainability and social responsibility. Our goal is to prepare students to be leaders in sustainable development.

This is realized through the department's continuous efforts, represented by all faculty members, to equip students and society with the necessary knowledge, skills, and values to understand and address complex economic challenges. We prepare them to become economic leaders capable of managing the country's economy. We also achieve our strategic objectives through holding conferences, seminars, and scientific workshops.
