The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Fallujah discussed a PhD dissertation entitled "Analyzing the Reciprocal Relationship between Monetary Policy Tools and Some Macroeconomic Variables in Iraq" on Monday, June 29, 2026, in the Martyr Dr. Khalil Hall at 9:00 AM.
The dissertation, presented by student Mushtaq Talib Ibrahim under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Khamis Abdul, aimed to study the theoretical foundations of monetary policy and some macroeconomic variables, and to clarify the intellectual frameworks that explain the nature of the reciprocal relationship between them according to the principles of economic logic.
It also analyzed the reality of monetary policy tools and macroeconomic variables in the Iraqi economy during the research period, and analyzed the existing relationship between them.
The discussion committee consisted of Professor Dr. Muhannad Khalifa Ubaid as chair,
and Professor Dr. Khalid Rukan Awad and Assistant Professor Dr. [Name Missing] as members. Naaman Munther Younis, Dr. Ahmed Ahmed Mohammed Jassim, and Dr. Ghaydaa Sadiq Suleiman.
The dissertation included several key conclusions, most notably: the research results partially confirmed the research hypothesis, demonstrating a statistically significant reciprocal causal relationship between the Central Bank's foreign currency sales window and both non-oil commodity imports and per capita GDP.
