Goal of the University Counseling Unit
Every professional field has specific goals aimed at achieving accessible tasks with long-term impact. Psychological counseling, as a field focused on self-actualization among university individuals, also aims to foster psychological, social, and educational adjustment, while helping individuals overcome educational, professional, and social challenges.
Therefore, the Psychological and Educational Counseling Division at the University of Fallujah aims to:
- Identify psychological and behavioral problems faced by all university affiliates—students, employees, and administrators—and ensure timely assistance through scientifically based counseling sessions.
- Adopt a dual-based working strategy:
- Psychological and behavioral issues as defined by the individuals experiencing them.
- Psychological and behavioral issues as assessed by assigned educational counselors in the colleges.
- Monitor the surrounding conditions of university staff that may lead to psychological and behavioral disorders and offer the best suggestions. The unit also promotes mental health awareness through brochures, posters, and other educational materials to achieve the highest levels of psychological prevention.
- Help students, especially first-year students, understand university life in its academic and cultural dimensions, and work to raise the level of social and professional ambition for graduating students.
