Department of Public Administration: Vision, Mission, and Core Values

 

 

Vision Statement

 

To be the leading Department of Public Administration in Iraq, at the forefront of research, education, and public policy formulation, integrating sustainability and digitalization as key drivers for effective governance, innovation, and public service delivery, and preparing students to be leaders in building sustainable, technologically advanced, and inclusive societies.

 

Mission Statement

 

Our mission is to provide cutting-edge education, research, and policy analysis in public administration, with a strong focus on sustainability and digitalization. We strive to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to understand and address complex governance challenges, leveraging the potential of sustainable practices and digital technologies to improve public service delivery, foster innovation, and enhance citizen engagement.

 

Department Core Values

 

Sustainability: We are committed to promoting the principles of sustainability in our teaching, research, and outreach to the community and stakeholders. We emphasize the importance of integrating environmental, social, and economic considerations into public administration practices, preparing our students to be agents of positive change in fostering sustainable and resilient communities in the digital age.

Digitalization: We embrace the opportunities and challenges presented by the digital era, recognizing the transformative impact of technology on public administration practices. We strive to prepare our students to harness the potential of digital technologies in improving governance processes, enhancing public service delivery, and fostering innovation and efficiency in public administration.

Ethical Decision-Making: We emphasize the importance of ethical decision-making in public administration, promoting integrity, professionalism, and ethical leadership within the context of sustainability and digitalization. We prepare our students to navigate complex ethical issues related to sustainability and digitalization, and to make decisions that serve the public interest while upholding high moral standards.

Effective Governance: We underscore the importance of effective and efficient governance in public administration, promoting transparency, accountability, and participatory decision-making in the era of sustainability and digitalization. We prepare our students to understand and apply best practices in governance, including strategic planning, performance management, and data-driven decision-making, to achieve sustainable and inclusive outcomes.

Innovation and Adaptability: We foster a culture of innovation and adaptability among our faculty, students, and stakeholders, recognizing the dynamic nature of public administration in the age of sustainability and digitalization.
